UCEDC’s Learn More, Do More Program Returns, Offering Free Business Training and Financial Support for Family Child Care Providers

Cranford, NJ
10/24/23

UCEDC is thrilled to announce the highly-anticipated return of our “Learn More, Do More” program, supported through a cooperative agreement with the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and in partnership with Northfield Bank. This initiative is designed to empower family childcare providers with essential tools to help them thrive in their businesses.

The most recent workshop was held on Saturday, October 21st, and we are excited to share that it was conducted simultaneously in both English and Spanish, allowing us to reach a broader audience.

Learn More: Empower Your Childcare Business

Our “Learn More, Do More” program is the ideal opportunity for family childcare providers to gain knowledge and financial support. To be a part of this program, here are the key requirements:
1. Have an existing business registration for over one year: We tailor our program to providers who have already taken the important step of establishing their businesses.
2. Be available for one-on-one business counseling sessions: Participants are encouraged to engage in personalized business counseling sessions within a year after completing the program.

Do More: Receive a $500 Forgivable Loan to Grow Your Childcare Business

Upon successful completion of the one-day business training workshop, you become eligible for a $500 forgivable loan to help strengthen and expand your child care business. Keep in mind that funding is limited, and it’s essential to submit all required paperwork to qualify.

Additionally, participants will receive a day of continuing education and a training certificate, further enhancing their skills and knowledge in the field of family child care.

Rave Reviews from Our Partners
Our program has garnered praise from one of our partners, Community Child Care Solutions in Perth Amboy:

“I would like to congratulate your team and you for a very successful training. I got excellent feedback from the ladies; they like how this training was very informative and the goals this training will help them create. Some of the ladies had no idea how to set realistic goals for their business and the key importance of maintaining their business.”

Such positive feedback underscores the incredible value that UCEDC’s program offers to family child care providers, helping them set realistic goals and build thriving businesses.
