Client Spotlight: Randall E. Toby Owner of Magnificent Men Mentoring Group

Randall E. Toby and his wife Claudia started the Magnificent Men Mentoring Group in 2014. Their program offers group mentoring sessions and self-empowerment workshops for high school, middle school, and college students. As Randall explains it, schools hire them to run programs such as their Suited for Success Book Club. As part of the workshop, they have students read sections from Suited for Success, Mr. Toby’s two-time Amazon Best Selling book, discuss what they learned from the book, and explore what success means to them.

When Randall found out that he had been accepted into UCEDC’s Virtual Incubator Program (VIP), which offers selected businesses with ownership from underserved populations mentorship, training, and access to capital, he was ecstatic. He says, “The thing we love about the organization is the tremendous support, as well as the advice. I’ve been an entrepreneur my whole life. However, I’ve learned things I didn’t know before and improved my skills. For example, the VIP helped us to set new goals, and find other organizations to create partnerships with. It forced us to do a self-assessment. We thought we were good, but it taught us we could be better, and it helped us to have more strategies so we could be around for the next 10, 20, or 30 years.”

Mr. Toby says they have recently received three separate grants to further their work, including funding from Planned Parenthood, to mentor 40 men throughout Southern NJ. Their organization was recently approved as an NYC Department of Education vendor, and Randall will also be collaborating with Rutgers School of Business School, Camden, this fall as a guest speaker. His popular Breakfast with Our Boys Series has been featured on FOX29, and he is working with several schools in New York and New Jersey to offer the program to students. As stated on their website, “The mission of the Breakfast with Our Boys Series is to provide male youth with guidance and support, to become productive, caring and responsible citizens in their communities”
