Still, you will be challenged even more during tough economic times.  The economy has a direct impact on the way a business promotes its products and services to customers. Understanding the link between the economy and marketing can help you to develop a cost-effective strategy for your business to respond to changes in the economic climate.

In this workshop, we’ll review the basic principles of marketing strategy and the application of the “4Ps of marketing”, SWOT analysis, target marketing, making effective advertising choices, including social media, as part of a complete marketing plan to help your small business navigate in a changing economy while spending your marketing funds in a way that optimizes ROI.

Keith Whelan
Training Officer

Keith Whelan is a training and mentoring officer at UCEDC, a statewide nonprofit economic development corporation that provides loans to startup and growing businesses, government contracting assistance, and training workshops to entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Prior to joining UCEDC, Keith held various marketing and business development positions at HSBC and also established businesses in the B2B lead generation and financial literacy fields.  He served as lead consultant at the Middlesex County SBDC and has been a SCORE volunteer for the Northwest NJ chapter since 2012.
