Lenny Joseph, Program Manager of ESC & VIP

Lenny joined UCEDC after having owned several profitable businesses and holding business-related roles in a variety of industries during his 22-year career.

In his current role as Program Manager, he oversees UCEDC’s specialized programs: Entrepreneurship as a Second Chance Program (ESC), which offers formerly incarcerated, or court-involved individuals the opportunity to explore re-entry into society through business ownership and the Virtual Incubator Program (VIP) that allows businesses with ownership from an underserved population the opportunity to sustain themselves during difficult economic times by offering education and access to capital.

Working at UCEDC, Lenny finds passion in developing workshops to help clients start and/or continue their business through formal small business education, one-on-mentoring, and unique funding sources, which he says is the best role he has had – knowing he can make a difference – by providing pathways and viability for more minority-owned small businesses. Lenny earned a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Massachusetts and obtained an M.B.A from the University of Maryland University College.
